Fines and Fees Information

The following is a list of fines and fees as approved by the High Plains Library Board of Trustees during the February 2012 Board Meeting. This list is reviewed annually.

Borrowing Library Materials

  • New library cards are free
  • Replacement library cards = $1.00

Over Due Items

  • HPLD items = $0.10 per day
  • Interlibrary Loan Items = $1.00 per day
  • HPLD Laptop = $50.00 per day with a maximum of $1,500 replacement cost
  • Laptop not returned correctly = $50.00

Debt Collect

HPLD uses Unique Management to collect outstanding fines and fees.

  • A $5.00 service charge is added to unresolved fines and fees from $10.00 to $24.99.
  • A $10.00 service charge is added to unresolved fines and fees of $25.00 or more.

Damaged and Lost Items

  • Lost Items: Full payment for item. Items found after payment is made are owned by the customer. No refunds are given.
  • Damaged Items: Fees are assessed based on the type of damage and the impact on the future use of the item.

Printing and Fax Services

  • B&W Copies/Printing = $0.10 per page
  • Color Copies/Printing = $0.25 per page
  • Fax = $1.00 per page (out bound service only)

Faxing available at the following locations:
Carbon Valley Regional, Centennial Park, Erie Community, Farr Regional and Lincoln Park.

Other

  • Missing Pieces: Fees are assessed based on the replacement cost of the pieces.
  • Flash Drives = $10.00 each (Foundation Sale Item)
  • Paper = $0.10 per page
