Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to some frequently asked database questions.

What is my Borrower Barcode Number?

Your Borrower Barcode Number is your library card number. The library card number is printed on the back side of your library card.

What is my PIN?

Your PIN is often the last four digits of the phone number you provided during new card registration. If you cannot remember your PIN please contact your local library.

Why can't I login to NetLibrary from home?

A one time onsite (at any of HPLD's branch or member libraries) registration is required. Once you have registered by creating a NetLibrary user name and password at one of our libraries you will be able to access NetLibrary remotely.

Why can't I access the database collection with my CLC Borrower card?

The High Plains Library District offers reciprocal borrowing privileges to non-district residents who are Colorado Libraries Collaborate! (CLC) program participants.

A CLC borrower is defined as anyone residing in the state of Colorado paying local taxes or fees for library service. This can be either publicly or through higher education.

Residents who do not pay local taxes or fees are not eligible.

Because of the heavy demands on our services from users outside of the High Plains Library District, we have chosen to restrict CLC Borrowing Privileges further than the privileges for HPLD residents.

The restrictions on CLC borrowers are:

  • CLC borrowers may not have remote access to the databases that the High Plains Library District subscribes to, per licensing agreements with the database providers. Any borrower may use the databases within the library.
  • CLC borrowers may not have access to the High Plains Library District's Downloadable Audio eBook Collection.
  • CLC borrowers may not request items via Interlibrary Loan (ILL).
  • CLC borrowers may check out 10 items at a time.
